North Vermillion is thrilled to announce the official appointment of Andrew Rodriguez as the next Head Football Coach at NV. Coach Rodriguez was approved by the North Vermillion School Board by a 7-0 vote on Friday, January 12th. Coach Rodriguez, a youthful force in the coaching realm, joins North Vermillion from Lafayette Harrison High School, where he served as the Raiders' Defensive Coordinator for the last three seasons. During this period, the South Newton alum led the Raiders to unprecedented success, achieving an outstanding 25-4 record with a defense that conceded roughly 15 points per game over the 3-year stretch. Harrison concluded the 2023 season ranked #5 by both the AP Media and the IFCA, boasting the 9th ranked defense across all classes and securing the top spot in Class 5A, a credit to Coach Rodriguez’s exceptional leadership and the impact he makes on students. Coach Rodriguez's extensive coaching background, coupled with his commitment to fostering both athletic and personal development, aligns seamlessly with our school's values. We are confident that his youthful leadership will inspire our athletes to reach new heights on and off the field. Before his tenure at Harrison, the 35-year-old Rodriguez had coaching stints at Lafayette Jefferson High School, South Newton High School, Olivet College, Elmhurst College, and Trine University. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to the energetic and talented Coach Andrew Rodriguez, his wife Sara, and their children as they become a part of the North Vermillion Falcon Family. We eagerly anticipate an exciting chapter in our football program under his guidance. Go Falcons!
